Banyuwangi regent named a suspect

SURABAYA: East Java Police named Banyuwangi Regent Samsul Hadi as a suspect in an alleged graft case for the purchase of two vessels worth Rp 15 million.

"Information from several witnesses and other suspects show Samsul's involvement in the purchase of the vessels," said Police Directorate of Criminal and Intelligence head of corruption unit Adj. Sr. Comr. Nur Samsul on Tuesday.

He said the police had also named other suspects in the graft case, former Banyuwangi regental secretary Masduki Su'ud; director of shipping company CV Muji Lestari Darmansyah and three Banyuwangi regental council members Yadianto, Eko Sukartono and Sumaryono. -- JP
