Banyuwangi (ANTARA) - The Banyuwangi Regency Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in East Java has stated that 1,310 prospective Hajj pilgrims will be transported to the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory in Surabaya on 11 May 2026. “The Banyuwangi Hajj pilgrims will depart from Banyuwangi on 11 May and arrive at the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory in Surabaya on 12 May 2026,” said Acting Head of the Banyuwangi Regency Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office, Rif’an Junaidi, in Banyuwangi, East Java, on Sunday. He explained that the 1,310 prospective Hajj pilgrims from the easternmost regency of Java Island are divided into five embarkation groups (kloter), namely Kloter 71, 82, 83, 84, and Kloter 85. For Kloter 71, Rif’an continued, there are eight prospective pilgrims combined with those from other regencies/cities and departing earlier, on 9 May 2026. “The number of 1,310 prospective pilgrims could increase, as it is dynamic in nature,” he said. Rif’an added that preparations for the departure of the Hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land of Mecca have currently reached 95 percent. “All stages have been completed; we are just awaiting the arrival of the luggage and its distribution to the prospective Hajj pilgrims,” he stated.
