Banyumas Residents Enthusiastically Participate in Free Health Check-ups via Speling Programme
The service was directly reviewed by Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen. It involves specialist doctors and health workers in Banyumas Regency, including medical personnel from Prof. Margono Soekarjo Regional General Hospital in Banyumas. During his visit, Taj Yasin greeted residents undergoing examinations while inspecting various health services available at the NU Medika Cilongok Clinic. Services visited included the general polyclinic, dental polyclinic, outpatient care, blood sugar and cholesterol testing, and other supporting health services. “The presence of the Speling Programme represents the Central Java Provincial Government’s commitment to bringing specialist health services closer to the community at the sub-district level, so residents no longer need to travel long distances for medical examinations,” Taj Yasin said in a written statement on Saturday. In addition to reviewing the implementation of Speling, Taj Yasin also observed the development of facilities and services at the NU Medika Cilongok Clinic. He expressed hope that the clinic would continue to improve its service quality to meet the community’s evolving health needs. The Speling Programme is one of the Central Java Provincial Government’s efforts to expand access to health services through collaboration with regional hospitals, health workers, and health service facilities across various areas. “Based on data from the Central Java Health Office, as of 24 June 2026, the Speling Programme has been implemented 1,320 times across 1,310 villages or urban wards, with a total of 109,304 beneficiaries,” he explained. This total is divided between 84,325 people in 2025 and 24,979 people in 2026. Meanwhile, a resident named Naimatul admitted she deliberately came to utilise the lung X-ray service. According to her, the Speling Programme greatly assists people who need health examinations without incurring large costs. “It is very helpful, because I have the flu and wanted a lung X-ray,” she concluded.
