Banyumas Regency Prepares Combined Work Pattern for Civil Servants' Work-from-Home Policy
The government has officially announced the work-from-home policy for civil servants or ASN WFH. The Banyumas Regency Government in Central Java is preparing the implementation of a work pattern following the issuance of Circular Letter from the Minister of Home Affairs Number 800.1.5/3349/SJ.
Banyumas Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono stated that the local government will follow the policy. However, the technical implementation of ASN WFH is still awaiting further discussion to suit local conditions.
“Basically, we follow the central government’s directives. It will be discussed further to determine the technical implementation,” he said on Wednesday (1/4).
In the circular letter, he said, it is stated that ASN in the local government environment are directed to implement a combined work system between work from office (WFO) and work from home (WFH). The WFH scheme for one day is planned to take place one day per week, namely every Friday.
This policy, he said, aims to encourage changes in the ASN work culture to be more effective and efficient, while accelerating the digitalisation of services through the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). In addition, public services are expected to continue to run optimally.
The circular also emphasises the importance of efficiency in the use of resources, such as reducing fuel consumption, electricity, water, and office operational costs. On the other hand, this policy is considered able to help reduce pollution levels along with decreased mobility.
Sadewo emphasised that not all regional device organisations (OPD) can fully implement WFH, especially agencies directly related to public services.
“For OPDs that provide direct services, they must of course continue to operate. It is likely to be regulated on a rotational basis,” he explained.
He added that the arrangement of the composition of ASN carrying out WFH and WFO will be adjusted to the needs of each regional apparatus.
The Banyumas Regency Government also plans to strengthen digital government services, including through the use of e-office, electronic signatures, digital attendance, and the Employee Management Information System (SIMPEG). “The official decision will be conveyed after the meeting on Friday,” said Sadewo.
