The Banyumas Regency Government in Central Java has decided not to implement the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy as applied by the central government. All civil servants (ASN) within the regency are required to return to working from the office starting Wednesday (25/3).

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Banyumas, Agus Nur Hadie, emphasised that this decision was taken to ensure optimal public services after the holiday period. “In Banyumas, there is no implementation of WFA. Starting today, all ASN have returned to actively working in the office,” he stated.

He added that the health services sector had already resumed normal operations a day earlier. From district hospitals to community health centres, full services have been restored to anticipate the increased needs of the public following the long holiday.

Additionally, a similar policy applies to educational personnel. Although teaching and learning activities (KBM) have not yet started simultaneously, ASN teachers are still required to attend schools to take attendance and prepare initial semester administration.

“ASN teachers must still come to work even though KBM has not yet commenced. They are carrying out administrative preparations,” he explained.

The Banyumas Regency Government considers the direct presence of ASN at their workplaces as a crucial factor in maintaining service quality, particularly for the public who require face-to-face services.

With all regional device organisations (OPD) returning to normal operations, the local government hopes that public service performance can immediately run at maximum capacity and work programmes can be directly implemented.

For information, the WFA policy was previously implemented by the central government in several regions as an adjustment to ASN work patterns in facing the dynamics of public needs and mobility.
