The Banyumas Regency Government in Central Java is utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology on its Satu Data Dimas Satria Portal to accelerate public access to information and improve the quality of digital public services.

Banyumas Regional Secretary Agus Nur Hadie stated in Purwokerto on Wednesday that the use of AI is part of the local government’s commitment to realizing modern, transparent, data-based governance that is adaptive to digital technology developments. “Previously, it was web-based, and people found it difficult and complicated to search for data. In this AI era, we are adopting the technology. If searching for data on the portal used to feel complicated, now with AI, all information can be accessed much more easily and quickly,” he said during the Socialization of AI Implementation on the Satu Data Dimas Satria Portal at the Amikom University Purwokerto.

Before the development, the Banyumas Satu Data Portal was still based on a conventional website, causing the public to frequently experience difficulties when searching for required data or information. The idea of implementing AI originated from an academic concept that was subsequently aligned with the regional leadership’s directive for the Banyumas Government to adapt to technological advancements and deliver public services that are simpler, faster, and easier to access.

He noted that the use of AI is not only intended for the public but can also be utilized jointly by all regional apparatus organizations. With an integrated system, operational costs can be reduced while simultaneously increasing service effectiveness. “The government also expects feedback from the use of this technology so that the wheels of the regional economy can develop better,” he added.

Committee Chair Professor Taqwa Hariguna stated that the development of AI technology has changed the way society obtains information. Currently, AI has become one of the main references for people to obtain data quickly, ranging from quantitative information and decision-making recommendations to solutions for various needs. He described the implementation of AI on the Banyumas Satu Data Portal as a strategic breakthrough and the first AI implementation on a local government one-data portal in Indonesia.

“Through this technology integration, the public can interact directly through a question-and-answer feature to obtain various public service information quickly and easily,” he said. The system is also integrated with various digital services, including information regarding digital payment systems. Professor Taqwa expressed hope that this adaptive step will inspire other institutions while strengthening synergy between universities and local governments in building a digital ecosystem capable of providing solutions for the community.
