Bantul Tourism Office and UBSI Yogyakarta Campus Discuss Student Internship Programme
The Bantul Tourism Office held a meeting with Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Yogyakarta Campus on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, to discuss strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education memorandum of understanding (MoU) and student internship programmes. The meeting, held in Bantul, was attended by officials from the Bantul Tourism Office and UBSI Yogyakarta Campus to strengthen synergy between education and the tourism sector, while providing students with greater opportunities to gain direct industry experience. Attendees included UBSI Yogyakarta Campus Head Sardiarinto, Informatics Study Program Head Anik Andriani, and BSI Career Center (BCC) Coordinator Erlangga Brahmanto. From the Bantul Tourism Office, Issri Tanti and relevant officials were present. Issri welcomed the meeting as a strategic step to strengthen ties between educational institutions and the regional tourism sector. “This collaboration represents positive synergy between the education sector and tourism industry. The five-year MoU extension is expected to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in human resource development and enhancing tourism service quality in Bantul,” Issri said in a statement received on Monday, 1 June 2026. Sardiarinto noted that the collaboration provides tangible benefits for students in gaining work experience relevant to industry needs. “This collaboration offers students real opportunities to learn and contribute directly to the tourism industry. Furthermore, it strengthens the implementation of Tri Dharma of Higher Education through field practice and community service,” he said. During the meeting, both parties discussed evaluating ongoing cooperation and plans to extend the MoU for the next five years. “This collaboration is expected to further expand opportunities for UBSI Yogyakarta students to participate in tourism internships and strengthen Tri Dharma of Higher Education through education, research, and community service,” he added. As a Creative Digital Campus, UBSI continues to strengthen partnerships with various industry sectors to enhance learning quality aligned with workforce needs. “Through this meeting, UBSI Yogyakarta Campus and the Bantul Tourism Office hope the strategic collaboration will support student competency development while contributing to sustainable regional tourism sector advancement,” Sardiarinto concluded.
