Bantul Requests Additional Supply of 91,000 3kg LPG Cylinders to Face Eid
The Head of the Bantul Cooperative, SME, Industry, and Trade Office, Prapta Nugroho, stated in Bantul on Thursday that coordination has already been conducted with the National Association of Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs (Hiswana Migas) regarding the need for 3kg LPG cylinders during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday. “The result of yesterday’s coordination with Hiswana Migas is a facultative increase in cylinder requests, and for the period from March until the end of Eid, we have applied for an additional approximately 91,000 cylinders,” he said. According to him, the additional supply of ‘melon’ LPG, distributed through LPG depots in Bantul, is expected to meet the needs of this essential commodity, which is predicted to see an increase in demand. “With this additional supply, I believe it will be sufficient for LPG needs until the end of Eid 2026,” he said. He added that, especially in February coinciding with the long holiday entering the month of Ramadan, his agency has also received an additional 85,000 subsidised 3kg LPG cylinders to fulfil holiday needs. “The position of subsidised 3kg LPG in February, we have already applied for an additional 85,000 cylinders, and we continue to monitor it up to the first week,” he said. He stated that the regional government, together with Hiswana Migas, always coordinates to map the condition and stock of gas cylinders in Bantul, to prevent shortages in the market, given that LPG is one of the important essential needs in society. Nevertheless, he said, so far the stock of 3kg gas cylinders in Bantul is safe, because the area has received additional supplies for the needs of the early Ramadan holiday.
