Bantul Police Raid Illegal Alcohol in 11 Locations, Seize 219 Bottles
The circulation of illegal alcoholic beverages remains rampant in Bantul Regency. In a three-day operation, the Bantul Resort Police and its sector police units raided 11 locations, seizing 219 bottles of various brands. The operation, conducted from 16 to 19 July 2026, was part of an enhanced routine activity (KRYD) responding to the widespread unlicensed liquor trade. Police targeted a range of venues, from private homes to roadside stalls and a modern outlet.
Bantul Police Public Relations Head, Iptu Rita Hidayanto, stated that the crackdown began on Thursday evening (16/7/2026) when the Samapta Unit searched a shop-house on Jalan Makam Suci, Ngancar Hamlet, Karangtalun Village, Imogiri District. Officers arrested a man identified as H, aged 65, and seized six bottles of ‘Anggur Kolesom’ liquor. The following night, Friday (17/7/2026) at around 10:30 p.m. WIB, the team moved to a roadside location on Jalan Parangtritis Km 8.4 in Gabusan, Timbulharjo Village, Sewon District, where they apprehended a 34-year-old man, NAW, and confiscated 25 bottles of ‘AL’ type alcoholic beverages.
The operation continued simultaneously on Saturday night (18/7/2026) into the early hours of Sunday (19/7/2026). Sewon Police raided two locations in Timbulharjo Village, arresting IS (33) in Rendeng Kulon Hamlet with 23 bottles of mixed ‘AL’ liquor, and RS (45) in Suruhan Hamlet with 15 bottles of the same type. That same night, Pleret Police uncovered a cash-on-delivery (COD) alcohol sales scheme. After stopping a motorcyclist riding dangerously, officers traced the supplier to a location east of Sultan Agung Stadium in Wonokromo, where they arrested AM (31) and seized 10 bottles of mixed ‘AL’ liquor.
Raids also took place in Kasihan District, where police arrested IN (42) and HS (62) at two locations in Bayaran and Jogonalan, Tirtonirmolo Village, seizing 16 bottles of various branded liquors. In Pandak District, officers responded to a community report in Kuroboyo Hamlet, Caturharjo Village, arresting KB (52) and confiscating 12 bottles of Kawa-kawa brand liquor and two bottles of vodka. The final action occurred on Jalan Tentara Pelajar in Trirenggo Village, Bantul District, where ANRW (30) was arrested with 21 bottles of ‘AL’ type liquor. All suspects and evidence have been secured for further legal proceedings.
