Bantul Police Donate Rp 30 Million to Charity Concert for NTT and Kalimantan
The Bantul Regional Police have contributed to humanitarian efforts through the ‘Musisi Jogja Peduli NTT dan Kalimantan’ (Yogyakarta Musicians Care for NTT and Kalimantan) charity concert. During the event, the Bantul Police donated Rp 30 million to assist communities affected by natural disasters in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Kalimantan.
In addition to the financial aid, the Bantul Police deployed 200 personnel to secure the charity concert held at the western parking lot of the Jogja Expo Centre (JEC) on Tuesday (1/9). The security measures were implemented to ensure the entire programme proceeded safely and under control.
The Chief of Bantul Police, AKBP Bayu Puji Hariyable, stated that the aid is a form of the National Police’s concern for citizens facing emergency situations due to natural disasters. “The Bantul Police are providing assistance of Rp 30 million as a form of care and solidarity for our brothers and sisters affected by disasters in NTT and Kalimantan,” Bayu said in a written statement on Wednesday (2/9/2026).
According to Bayu, the presence of the National Police is manifested not only through security duties but also by providing support to communities in need, particularly during post-disaster crises. “The Police must always be present, caring, and standing alongside the community in any condition, including when the community is facing calamities and requires support,” he added.
Furthermore, the aid is expected to help accelerate the fulfilment of basic needs for those affected by the disasters. Through this, the presence of the police institution can be felt directly by citizens in emergency conditions. “The main goal is to help lighten the burden on the community and accelerate the fulfilment of their basic needs. This is also a manifestation of the state’s direct presence amidst the community facing disasters,” he explained.
The charity concert featured 15 musicians from Yogyakarta, who performed to raise support and donations for the disaster victims in both regions. The concert was organised as a symbol of the Yogyakarta community’s solidarity. The funds collected from the event, including proceeds from both online and offline ticket sales, are intended to assist the recovery process and alleviate the burden on victims.
Bayu added that security for the concert was a vital component to ensure the humanitarian action could proceed in an orderly manner. A total of 200 Bantul Police personnel were deployed to ensure safety throughout the event. “We deployed 200 personnel for security. The hope is that the entire activity runs safely, orderly, and smoothly so that the humanitarian message of this concert can be conveyed effectively,” he concluded.
The concert also served as a space for musicians and the public to demonstrate togetherness and empathy for those facing disasters. Through this act of solidarity, it is hoped that the collected aid will provide significant benefits to the affected regions.
