Bantul Health Office Targets 460,000 Residents for Free Health Check Programme

The Bantul Health Office in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) is targeting 460,000 residents to participate in the Free Health Check-up Programme (CKG) this year.

The Head of the Bantul Health Office, Agus Tri Widiyantara, stated that the CKG programme is currently underway, with a temporary achievement of approximately 10 per cent of the set target.

“As of the end of last month (May), around one hundred thousand people had participated, but this number is continuously increasing and we will recap the figures again at the end of this month (June),” Agus said in Yogyakarta on Tuesday.

The Bantul Regency Government aims to realise the CKG programme for 46 of 460,000 individuals by implementing various acceleration measures to maximise community reach.

“We are maximising acceleration by conducting CKG during various community events,” said Agus.

In addition to targeting community events, he continued, the CKG programme will also be implemented across various cross-sector government agencies, such as the Bawaslu Office and others.

He expressed optimism that the CKG programme’s realisation this year could reach the specified target, especially considering that previous years’ achievements also exceeded targets.

“In 2024, from a target of 360,000 people, we achieved 370,000 people,” said Agus.

He ensured that all community health centres (Puskesmas) distributed across Bantul Regency are capable of providing CKG services, particularly for residents living in their vicinity.

“There are a total of 27 Puskesmas locations in Bantul Regency,” he added.

He acknowledged several obstacles in the implementation of the CKG, particularly regarding residents who are less proactive in registering for the programme at the health centres.

“We are addressing this through a ‘jemput bola’ (proactive outreach) system by engaging directly with communities,” said the Head of the Bantul Health Office, Agus Tri Widiyantara.
