Banten's 2027 Regional Budget Projected at IDR 9 Trillion, Free Schools and Infrastructure Prioritised

The Budget Committee (Banggar) of the Banten Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) has announced that the Draft Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBD) for Banten Province for the 2027 fiscal year is projected to exceed Rp 9 trillion. This budget will be prioritised for programmes that directly benefit the public.

The DPRD and the Banten Provincial Government signed the Memorandum of Agreement on the General Budget Policy and Provisional Budget Ceiling Priorities (KUA-PPAS) for the 2027 Banten Provincial RAPBD on Friday (14/8/2026).

Rifky Hermiansyah, spokesperson for the Banten DPRD Budget Committee, stated that the free school programme and infrastructure development are the top priorities for budget allocation.

“The Governor’s priorities, such as free schools, roads, and other development programmes, will continue to receive increased budget allocations,” said Rifky on Friday (14/8/2026).

He added that the preparation of the 2027 Banten RAPBD is not solely oriented towards increasing the budget for priority programmes. The principles of fairness and equitable development across all regions of Banten are also a primary concern in budget deliberations.

“The management of the regional budget is expected to be carried out transparently and accountably, and free from corrupt practices. This is in line with the development spirit championed by Banten Governor Andra Soni,” he said.

Following the signing of the KUA-PPAS, the RAPBD deliberations will continue through to the ratification of the regional budget. Rifky affirmed that the discussions will continue to prioritise the principles of effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and public interest.

“The next stages will be directed towards deliberation up to the ratification of the regional budget, while continuing to prioritise effectiveness, efficiency, transparency, and public interest,” said Rifky.

He assured that the Banten DPRD Budget Committee will continue to oversee the budget preparation process to ensure that every rupiah allocated in the regional budget provides tangible benefits to the public.

“With a projected regional budget of more than Rp 9 trillion, the Banten DPRD hopes that the management of the 2027 budget will be able to accelerate development while delivering a real impact for the public across all regions of Banten Province,” he concluded.
