Banten UPTD Latker partners with 65 companies to place training graduates
The Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) for Job Training (Latker) of the Banten Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) has partnered with around 65 companies in an effort to place its graduates after they complete employment training.
“We have the Banten Provincial Government and Regional Industry Communication Forum (FKLPID). There are 65 companies,” said Head of the Banten Disnakertrans Job Training UPTD, Mohamad Bayuni, in Serang on Tuesday.
Bayuni said the effort is aimed at encouraging job training graduates to be absorbed by industries and companies in Banten. This way, after participants graduate they can immediately work to implement the skills or expertise gained during training.
“That is why midway through the training we invite companies for recruitment,” said Bayuni. In addition, it also serves as a platform for recruitment socialisation, so that graduates can be absorbed in fields that match the vocational skills trained at the UPTD.
“Around 60 percent of graduates go straight to work. Even then, many in fields like beauty, sewing or other vocations do not report back once they are working,” said Bayuni.
Furthermore, he said, there are also those who start their own businesses or become entrepreneurs, because sometimes their families have a bridal makeup business or a tailor shop, or they open their own.
Bayuni said the training duration for each vocational programme at the Banten Disnakertrans Job Training UPTD is 25 days or 200 hours.
“Graduates receive an internal certificate and a National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) certificate, if they pass,” he added.
He said the professional certificate is valid for three years and is recognised in ASEAN member countries.
“Except for Japanese language. Because it does not yet meet the qualifications. The training time must be at least four months,” said Bayuni.
He said there are currently around 192 participants undergoing training across 12 vocational programmes prepared in the training scheme.
