The Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, has announced that Banten Province will serve as the host for the ADMM-Plus Trident Resolve 2026 joint military exercises, involving 19 nations.

Welcoming the delegates at The Royale Krakatau Hotel in Cilegon City on Tuesday, Andra expressed his appreciation for the appointment of Banten as the training location for the exercises, which are scheduled to run until 25 September 2026.

“The presence of the Banten Provincial Government here is a form of welcome and full support. We appreciate the involvement of 19 nations in this joint exercise, especially because its main focus includes emergency disaster management, military medicine, and cyber threats, which are highly relevant to us,” said Andra.

The exercise, titled the Combined Field Training Exercise, integrates three ADMM-Plus expert working groups: Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), Military Medicine (MM), and Cyber Security (CS).

Andra noted that the training is highly relevant to Banten’s geographical conditions, which feature a long coastline, the Sunda Strait region, strategic industrial zones, and potential disaster risks, including volcanic activity from Mount Anak Krakatau.

Consequently, the exercise is designed using a large-scale multi-hazard disaster scenario involving an earthquake followed by an eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau and a tsunami.

Meanwhile, the Cyber Security working group will focus on anticipating disruptions to information and communication systems that could occur during large-scale disasters.

Andra stated that Banten’s experience facing the 2018 Sunda Strait tsunami serves as a vital reminder of the importance of preparedness, early warning systems, and cross-institutional coordination.

The exercise also serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and enhancing international cooperation in facing emergency situations.

“The Banten Provincial Government hopes that the implementation of Exercise Trident Resolve 2026 will not only strengthen defence diplomacy but also provide a tangible impact on increasing regional capacity to mitigate potential future disasters,” he added.
