Banten receives 250-unit home renovation assistance from central government
The Banten Provincial Government has received assistance from the central government in the form of a home renovation programme covering 250 units, following its recognition as an outstanding regional government for 2026 in the category of implementing the 3 Million Houses programme.
Deputy Governor of Banten Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah expressed gratitude for the appreciation. According to him, the award is tangible evidence of the central government’s positive assessment of the Banten Provincial Government’s performance.
He stressed that these various achievements ultimately lead to public welfare, as demonstrated by the assistance provided by the central government.
Regarding the 250 home renovation units, Dimyati assured that distribution would prioritise fairness and accurate targeting. The technical details of distribution will be discussed further by the Regional Secretary of Banten Province together with the Public Housing and Settlement Areas Agency and related officials.
“This will be given to areas that truly need it,” he added.
Dimyati expressed hope that the assistance would improve housing quality so that the people of Banten can obtain decent homes. He emphasised that the Banten Provincial Government is always open to criticism and input in order to achieve sustainable regional development improvements.
“We hope that these various forms of appreciation will serve as motivation to continue improving performance and providing the best services for the community,” he said.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian explained that the appreciation covers four categories: waste management and a clean environment, public access to education services, access to and quality of health services, and implementation of the 3 Million Houses Programme. These categories were chosen because they represent the fulfilment of people’s basic needs and efforts to improve quality of life.
“Our hope is that with this event, the winners will be even more enthusiastic. For those who were not fortunate this time, hopefully they will be motivated to improve their performance to win the next competition,” Tito said.
