Banten Provincial Government Welcomes Vietnamese Investors' Interest
The Banten Provincial Government has welcomed the interest of Vietnamese entrepreneurs who plan to make the region one of the premier investment development centres in Indonesia. Governor Andra Soni stated in Serang on Tuesday that Banten offers many added values and advantages for investors, ranging from its strategic location bordering Jakarta to the readiness of its supporting infrastructure. “Our port, airport, and toll road infrastructure is very adequate. Therefore, in line with the increasingly strong bilateral relations between Indonesia and Vietnam, the Banten Provincial Government is committed to facilitating and smoothing the entry of investors,” Andra said after receiving a visit from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Bilateral Committee for Vietnam and Cambodia at the Banten Governor’s official residence in Serang City. The governor revealed that, based on initial discussions, the Vietnamese side has a strong interest in investing in three strategic sectors in Banten: manufacturing, property, and dairy farming. “Moreover, if we look at the milk supply needs in line with the rolling out of the Free Nutritious Meals programme, if Vietnamese investors invest in Banten, we can produce our own milk using their advanced technological standards,” he said. As a follow-up to the meeting, the Banten Provincial Government is preparing an intensive dialogue through the Banten Investment Forum, which is scheduled to be part of the province’s anniversary celebrations in October. “This is still the initial stage; we continue to build communication. Later, we will hold a dialogue because many entrepreneurs there have requested comprehensive information regarding investment potential in Banten Province,” he said. The broad market base, considering Indonesia’s market is the largest in Southeast Asia, is what makes Vietnamese investors very interested and request detailed information about Banten.
