Banten Provincial Government Separates 2026 High School Admission Schedules, Residency Track Starts 10 June
There are six entry tracks for SMA (High School) admissions: school environment residency, regional residency, affirmation, academic achievement, non-academic achievement, and mutation.
‘To ensure clarity, for example, if parents register through the school environment residency track and are not accepted, they can then apply via the regional residency track. If they are still not accepted, they can apply through the achievement tracks and so on. It is very clear,’ said the Head of the Banten Education and Culture Office, Jamaluddin, on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
According to him, this system is fairer than simultaneous registration. If a prospective student is not accepted in one track, they still have the opportunity to register in the next. ‘So, when they are not accepted in this track, they can register again in the next. There are several opportunities like that. It is more open. After registration, there will be an announcement, followed by re-registration,’ he said.
Regarding admission quotas, the school environment residency track accounts for 20 per cent, regional residency for 15 per cent, achievement tracks for 30 per cent, affirmation for 30 per cent, and mutation for 5 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, stated that the pre-SPMB process has already opened so that students can create accounts and upload required documents. He requested that the 2026 SPMB implementation in Banten be conducted transparently and urged students who are not accepted into state schools not to panic.
‘All tracks must be transparent. Furthermore, the Provincial Government is preparing alternative school destinations by providing 801 private schools for students who are not accepted into state schools. These schools are registered under the free school programme. This is the second year of the free private school programme,’ he said.

School Environment Residency Track: 10-11 June 2026
Regional Residency Track: 17-18 June 2026
Affirmation Track: 22-23 June 2026
Academic Achievement Track: 27-29 June 2026
Non-Academic Achievement Track: 2-3 July 2026
Mutation Track: 7-8 July 2026
