Serang (ANTARA) - The Banten Provincial Government is preparing a special monitoring application to ensure the productivity of civil servants (ASN) implementing the work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday. Banten Governor Andra Soni, in Serang on Wednesday, explained that the application is designed to maintain optimal employee performance through a live attendance system equipped with location-sharing features. “We will prepare an application for monitoring, as well as a tool to measure effectiveness. We recommend that every Regional Device Organisation (OPD) support this circular letter,” said Andra Soni. Although working remotely, the Governor emphasised that supervision will be conducted strictly. However, this WFH policy does not apply to echelon I and II officials, who are still required to work from the office. Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) of Banten Province, Ai Dewi Suzana, added that the supporting application requires ASN to report all work activities and daily performance achievements in real-time. “For live check-in, it must not stop and location sharing is mandatory. Even though there is potential for cheating, they are still required to report what they do during working hours,” she stated. This step is taken to minimise the misuse of working time while serving as a parameter for assessing the effectiveness of the WFH policy, which aims to reduce energy consumption in the government environment. In addition to digital supervision, the Banten Provincial Government will also begin trialling restrictions on private vehicle use for ASN, starting at the Energy and Mineral Resources Office from next week. All staff in that office are directed to use public transportation as part of the energy efficiency policy package. “We will try it for one week starting Monday, then evaluate it. The hope is that this step can reduce fuel consumption in the government sector and serve as an example for the public in national energy-saving efforts,” she said.
