Banten Provincial Government Intensifies Free Health Screening Programme
The Banten Provincial Government is intensifying and maximising its free health screening programme as a preventive measure to build a healthy, productive, and high-quality society. Governor Andra Soni, speaking in Serang on Saturday, invited the public to take advantage of the free health check-ups, stating that the current health development paradigm prioritises promotive and preventive care rather than solely focusing on treatment after illness. As a form of commitment to providing free services, the Governor guaranteed that residents classified as National Health Insurance (JKN) Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI) will receive special access facilities. He stated that if PBI participants require services or encounter administrative obstacles, the regional government will facilitate their access to ensure they can enjoy healthcare without financial burden. Beyond general check-ups, the free health service also focuses on individuals with comorbidities through the Chronic Disease Management Programme (Prolanis) in collaboration with BPJS Kesehatan. Deputy Regional Director IV of BPJS Kesehatan, dr. Yessi Kumalasari, explained that Prolanis is a tangible form of sustainable service accessible to participants to prevent their conditions from worsening. Currently, there are 358,799 Prolanis participants in Banten entitled to free services including group exercise, health consultations, medication, and supporting examinations. Of this number, approximately 21 percent are actively registered in Prolanis clubs focusing on diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
