Banten Provincial Government Intensifies Free Health Screening Programme
Serang (ANTARA) - The Banten Provincial Government continues to intensify and maximise its free health check service programme as a preventive effort to build a healthy, productive and high-quality society.
Banten Governor Andra Soni, speaking in Serang on Saturday, invited all elements of society not to hesitate to make use of the free facilities provided by the government in order to manage their health from an early stage.
“I invite the people of Banten to take advantage of the free health checks. The paradigm of health development today is no longer solely oriented towards treatment after falling ill, but prioritises promotive and preventive measures,” he said.
As a form of commitment to providing free services, the Governor guaranteed that residents in the Premium Assistance Beneficiary (PBI) category of BPJS Kesehatan would receive special access facilities.
According to him, whenever PBI recipients need services or encounter administrative obstacles, the regional government will facilitate them so that they can continue to enjoy healthcare services without financial burden.
In addition to general check-ups, the free health services are also focused on those with comorbid conditions through the Chronic Disease Management Programme (Prolanis), run in cooperation with BPJS Kesehatan.
In line with this, Deputy Director of BPJS Kesehatan Regional IV, Dr Yessi Kumalasari, explained that Prolanis is a tangible form of continuous care that participants can access so that they do not fall into more serious illness.
Currently, there are 358,801 Prolanis participants in Banten who are entitled to services such as group exercise, health consultations, medication services and supporting examinations free of charge.
“Of that number, around 21 per cent are actively registered in Prolanis clubs focusing on diabetes mellitus (DM) and hypertension,” she said.
The commitment to free healthcare services was reflected in the Semarak Gerak Sehat Prolanis Banten 2026 event held at the grounds of the Banten Provincial State Building in Serang City.
