Banten Regional Police have uncovered a house being used as a warehouse for illegal cigarettes without excise stamps in Baros, Serang Regency. Three people were arrested along with evidence including 80 bales of illegal cigarettes and a box truck.

Kabid Humas of Banten Police, Kombes Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, stated that the police received a report regarding the suspected circulation of illegal cigarettes. The Raimas team from the Banten Police Directorate of Samapta moved to the location and discovered the unloading of illegal cigarettes at a house suspected of being a storage warehouse in the Baros area.

“The Raimas team conducted an inspection and found 80 bales of cigarettes without excise stamps stored inside the warehouse,” he said on Wednesday (8/7/2026).

In addition, officers seized a box truck with the registration number B 9327 PXU and three mobile phones.

“Meanwhile, the three individuals detained are men with the initials AHS (33), AT (36), and MAA (32),” he said.

Maruli stressed that the Banten Police will continue to optimise the Maung Presisi Patrol as a preventive and repressive measure against various criminal acts within the Banten Police jurisdiction.

“The Maung Presisi Patrol is not only present to maintain security but also to provide a rapid response to any information from the public,” he stated.

“We urge the public not to hesitate to report if they become aware of any activities suspected of violating the law,” he added.
