The Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) held training under the Polisi Peduli Pengangguran (Poliran) programme for 75 participants from the general public. Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki hopes the activity can reduce the still-high unemployment rate in Banten.

The sixth wave of training was attended by 75 participants and lasted four days, from 27 to 30 April 2026, at the Poliran Training Centre in Kasemen, Serang City, on Monday (27/4/2026). There were five training programmes: welding, electrical work, waste management, biofloc fish farming, and hydroponic agriculture.

In his speech, Inspector General Hengki stated that the Tailor Made Training (TMT) programme is a training specifically designed based on community needs.

“This programme is compiled by considering the regional potential as well as available job opportunities, so it has real and sustainable benefits,” he said.

Hengki said that based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for February 2026, the population of Banten Province reached around 12.64 million people.

“With an unemployment figure of 430,022 people and an open unemployment rate (TPT) of 6.63%, this places Banten in fourth place for the highest nationally,” he stated.

Inspector General Hengki revealed that from wave I to wave V, the number of Poliran training participants has reached 492 people.

“From that number, based on data from the Vocational and Productivity Training Centre (BBPVP), 20 participants have successfully obtained jobs, while 11 other participants have become independent entrepreneurs through waste processing,” he disclosed.

In addition, the Banten Police Chief and his team planted trees in the Poliran Centre environment. He hopes the tree-planting movement can be carried out massively to maintain environmental health.

“This activity is part of efforts to realise an ASRI Indonesia through tree planting, while also inviting all Banten Province residents, especially in the jurisdiction of Polda Banten, to love planting,” he said.
