Banten Police Seize 4.7 kg of Crystal Meth and 7.5 kg of Marijuana in January-February 2026

The Banten Police Department revealed 35 drug cases and designated 54 suspects during the period from January to February 2026. A total of 4.7 kilograms of crystal meth, 7.5 kilograms of marijuana, 30 vape cartridges weighing 39.2 grams, and thousands of Group G prescription pills were confiscated.

The Head of the Narcotics Directorate of the Banten Police Department, Commissioner Wiwin Setiawan, stated that out of the 54 suspects, 49 are male and 5 are female. Of this number, 32 people are involved as distributors and 22 others as users.

“This discovery is the result of the work of the Narcotics Directorate in combating the illegal drug trade in the jurisdiction of the Banten Police Department,” said Wiwin, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

Wiwin said that the police confiscated 4,718.54 grams or approximately 4.7 kilograms of crystal meth and 7,503.94 grams or approximately 7.5 kilograms of marijuana. In addition, the police secured 30 vape cartridges containing etomidate weighing 39.2 grams. They also secured 5,015 Group G prescription pills, consisting of 2,643 Tramadol pills and 2,372 Hexymer pills.

“The total value of the evidence reaches approximately IDR 4.7 billion for crystal meth, IDR 22.5 million for marijuana, IDR 60 million for etomidate, and IDR 15 million for Group G prescription pills,” said Wiwin.

The suspects are charged with several articles, including Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics, and Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health.

Wiwin explained that the perpetrators play a role as intermediaries in buying and selling and as distributors of narcotics. The police estimate that this discovery has saved approximately 46,501 people from the potential for drug abuse.

He invited the public to actively report drug trafficking in their respective communities.

“We will not give space to drug criminals in the Banten region,” he said.
