The Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) received the Nugraha Sakanti honour from President Prabowo Subianto during the 80th Police Day (Hari Bhayangkara) commemoration. Polda Banten stated that the honour was awarded for its performance in law enforcement.

Head of Public Relations for Polda Banten, Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, said the force had successfully uncovered a number of illegal mining cases and the misuse of subsidised fuel and LPG. These cases were said to have caused state losses.

“For these achievements, Polda Banten received the Samkarya Nugraha Sakanti honour from the President of the Republic of Indonesia as a form of appreciation for its success and achievements in carrying out its duties. In addition to the award from the President, Polda Banten also received appreciation from the Minister of Transportation, the Governor of Banten, and the Chair of the Banten Regional House of Representatives for successfully securing the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flows,” Maruli said in a written statement on Wednesday (1/7/2026).

He said the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Banten had also uncovered 212 theft cases from 267 police reports, with a case resolution rate reaching 79%. The Directorate of Drug Investigation of Polda Banten also dismantled a cross-provincial narcotics distribution network, seizing more than 73 kg of methamphetamine, marijuana, and vape cartridges containing etomidate.

“To date, six housing units have been targeted by the programme, with two units completed and four others still under construction. Additionally, through the Precision Red and White Bridge Programme, 58 of the targeted 65 bridges have been completed, with the remainder still under construction,” he said.

Maruli said Polda Banten continues to optimise the corn planting programme, with a potential land area of more than 3,100 hectares. He stated that the harvest absorbed by the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) has reached almost 1,200 tonnes.

“The harvest absorbed by Bulog has reached almost 1,200 tonnes. Meanwhile, the construction of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) has also exceeded the target. From a target of 18 units, 76 SPPGs have been registered to date, meaning it has surpassed the target,” he explained.

Polda Banten also continues to run the Police Care for the Unemployed (Poliran) programme. The programme has been implemented in six waves and was attended by 567 participants.

“In the field of public security and order, Polda Banten succeeded in maintaining a safe situation during the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flows. Despite an increase in vehicle volume and passenger numbers, the number of traffic accidents was reduced by 58%, while traffic violations decreased by 69%,” he said.
