The Banten Police say several areas in Cibeber, Cilegon City, are still flooded. Police evacuated affected residents, including toddlers, from the flood site. The flooding in Cilegon has been ongoing since Saturday night (7 March) and continues to date. Police had to evacuate residents as the floodwaters reached 70 cm at that time. From a photo sent by the Banten Police, one officer is seen wading through the flood to evacuate a toddler on Saturday night. The child is seen crying as he is evacuated using a bath bucket. The Public Relations Head of Banten Police, Kombes Maruli Hutapea, explained that police together with other officers were on site to help residents. With the help of a rubber boat and other equipment, officers evacuated residents. “Personnel from the Banten Police together with the Cilegon Police went to the location to assist communities affected by the flood. Personnel evacuated residents in need of assistance and provided health services to affected communities,” Maruli said on Sunday (8 March 2026). The police were monitoring several points to ensure the water had receded. By 14:00 WIB, some areas had already begun to recede. “Based on field data, several flood-affected points include Link Sambirata RT 05 RW 05, Cibeber Sub-district, where the initial water height reached 70 cm. But the water discharge has decreased and now remains around 20 cm,” he said. In PCI Blok D, water height once reached 60 cm but has now fully receded. Meanwhile, in Praja Mandiri Housing, water height rose to 30 cm but has since receded. In Cibeber Barat RW 01 and RW 02, water stood 20 cm but has also receded. The Banten Police confirmed that the Call Center 110 remains on standby 24 hours a day as a rapid-report channel for the public in facing potential natural disasters or other emergencies. “The Banten Police are committed to delivering fast and responsive service to the public. Every report received will be followed up promptly and professionally in a coordinated manner,” he said. See also Video ‘Jalan Gempol Raya Kunciran Tangerang Still Flooded This Evening’.
