Banten Police Chief Meets Chief Prosecutor, Discusses Synergy and Restorative Justice

Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki paid a visit to the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office in Serang City on Wednesday (15/7/2026), where he was welcomed by Chief Prosecutor Bernadeta Maria Erna Elastiyani and her staff. The closed-door meeting between the two law enforcement agencies focused on strengthening synergy in handling cases. “This visit aims to enhance cooperation within the criminal justice system. We and our colleagues from the Prosecutor’s Office conveyed that we are working together, not competing,” said Banten Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea. Maruli noted that the police and prosecutors also discussed improving the implementation of restorative justice. “Another matter discussed was the handling of cases through restorative justice, which we will continue to enhance going forward,” he said. He also urged the public not to be influenced by issues or information suggesting disharmony between law enforcement institutions. “We are conveying that there is no need for any interpretation regarding the existing situation. We are all working on track, according to the rules, and in line with the regulated job descriptions,” he stated.
