The Banten Regional Police has announced that fuel stocks for the 2026 Lebaran exodus are secure. The public has been urged not to panic in their purchases of fuel or other essential goods.

“Essential goods such as meat, sugar, flour and other items needed to celebrate Lebaran are in abundant supply. This includes fuel supplies,” said Banten Regional Police Chief Inspector General Hengki at Banten Police Headquarters in Serang City on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Hengki urged the public not to engage in panic buying as supplies are sufficient.

“There is no need to panic or engage in panic buying because stocks are sufficient for both Lebaran needs and fuel,” he said.

Regarding operational readiness ahead of the Lebaran exodus, Hengki stated that police and armed forces personnel will be stationed to secure every ferry operating at Merak and Ciwandan. Officers will maintain security and comfort for travellers throughout their journey.

“We are deploying security personnel on board the ferries in accordance with standard operating procedures. We are involving personnel from both the Mobile Brigade and Water Police,” he said.

“Every ferry departure, whether outbound or return, is secured by the Mobile Brigade and Water Police. Military personnel are also present, ensuring integrated operations,” he said.

Additionally, Hengki highlighted the readiness of facilities to be used by travellers. However, several road improvements and repairs remain ongoing.

“There are aspects such as toll roads still being perfected, including road markings that are currently being painted, and so forth,” he said.
