The event was held at the field in front of PT Samator, Modern Industrial Area, on Sunday (3/5/2026), and was attended by workers from across Serang Regency. The occasion was also joined by Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah, Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan, and Serang Military District Commander Colonel Arm Oke Kistianto.

In his speech, Hengki underscored the strategic role of workers in maintaining economic stability and promoting societal welfare.

“Workers are the main force in safeguarding economic stability, enhancing competitiveness, and realising societal welfare,” said Hengki.

He emphasised the importance of synergy between workers, entrepreneurs, and the government to create harmonious industrial relations.

“Good synergy is an essential foundation in creating harmonious, fair, and sustainable industrial relations,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Banten Governor Andra Soni expressed his commitment to addressing extortion practices. According to him, extortion is a crime.

“Extortion is a crime. We, together with the Banten Police Chief, agree to take action against anyone involved,” he said.

According to Andra Soni, labour extortion poses a challenge, particularly in terms of proof. However, such practices often emerge within society. Therefore, he called for the participation of all stakeholders to report any instances of extortion in worker recruitment.

He also urged the public to immediately report to law enforcement authorities (APH) if they encounter such practices, so that they can be promptly addressed.

For this reason, Andra Soni requested that the Banten Police and the Local Leadership Coordination Forum, including the Serang Regency Government (Pemkab), provide a sense of justice for the public in obtaining decent job opportunities. He stressed that extortion practices must be stopped, even if they are suspected to involve many parties.

“The Regent has already formed a task force. We at the province have also established a labour desk that includes the Police Chief,” he said.
