The presence of Puteri Indonesia can serve as a bridge of communication that inspires the youth of Banten to continue learning.

Serang (ANTARA) - The Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov Banten) is collaborating with Puteri Indonesia 2026, Agnes Aditya Rahajeng, to strengthen the three main pillars of regional development, namely education, protection of women and children, and tourism promotion.

This was highlighted during a meeting between Banten Governor Andra Soni and Agnes Aditya Rahajeng, who was accompanied by the General Chair of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation, Prof. Wardiman Djojonegoro, at the Banten Provincial State Building in Serang City on Wednesday.

On that occasion, Governor Andra Soni addressed the challenges of disparities in educational access in his region, particularly in areas with low fiscal capacity. According to him, education is the main pathway to alleviating poverty and improving community competitiveness.

“As a manifestation of commitment, the Banten Provincial Government has launched a free school programme for senior high schools (SMA), vocational high schools (SMK), and private special schools (SKh), which by 2025 will reach 801 schools. We continue to strive so that no child in Banten is left behind,” said Andra.

In addition to education, the Governor also emphasised the importance of reducing violence against women. Andra asserted that Banten has significant homework to ensure that its region becomes a safe home for all, especially women and children.

In response to this, Puteri Indonesia 2026, Agnes Aditya Rahajeng, expressed her commitment and readiness to collaborate in promoting these three strategic pillars.

“This is an honour for me to work with the Banten Provincial Government to continue voicing that these three main pillars are very important,” said Agnes.

Agnes, who has resided in South Tangerang for nearly a decade, feels she has become part of Banten. Her journey as Puteri Indonesia has also brought her closer to the region’s potential, such as visiting the Baduy Tribe, Kaibon Palace, and Cibobos Beach.

“I directly witnessed the resilience of the Baduy community in maintaining harmony with nature, and it is very inspiring. I hope I can help promote Banten’s culture and tourism to become the top choice in Indonesia,” she said.
