Banten Manpower Office Prepares Skilled Workers Through Training Programmes
The Banten Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) is continuing to prepare skilled human resources for the workforce through its Technical Implementation Unit for Job Training. The first wave of training this year will commence on 1 July, offering six programmes, according to Head of Disnakertrans Banten Septo Kalnadi in Serang on Tuesday. Septo stated that equipping workers with skills tailored to industry needs would make it easier for job seekers, particularly those of productive age, to be accepted into the business or industrial sectors, or even to start their own enterprises. This initial batch, funded by the Banten provincial budget (APBD), will accommodate 96 participants.
In 2026, Disnakertrans Banten has opened training quotas at the Vocational Training Centre (BLK) for approximately 600 people under the provincial budget programme, not including those from district/city or central government schemes. Septo noted that the previous year’s training was conducted in three waves, each with 200 participants, and offered 13 different vocational courses.
Mohamad Bayuni, Head of the Banten Disnakertrans Job Training Technical Implementation Unit, added that the 96 students who passed the selection and administrative process for the first wave of 2026 will be divided into six training programmes starting 1 July. These programmes include 16 participants each for 1 GMAW welding, 1 SMAW welding, Japanese language, skincare beauty, sewing operations, and advanced office operator ICT. Participants are currently undergoing re-registration at the UPTD Job Training office.
