Banten Labour Department Appreciates Governor for Paritrana Award
Serang (ANTARA) - The Banten Provincial Labour and Transmigration Department (Disnakertrans) has congratulated and expressed appreciation to Banten Governor Andra Soni for the accolade he received at the Paritrana Social Security for Employment Award 2025 presentation ceremony.
“May this achievement further motivate us to continue expanding protection for workers, towards realising the welfare of the workforce in Banten Province,” said Head of the Banten Provincial Labour and Transmigration Department Septo Kalnadi in Serang on Monday.
Under the theme “Moving Together to Realise Prosperous Indonesian Workers”, he stated that the award serves as concrete evidence of the Banten Provincial Government’s commitment to providing employment social security protection for all workers.
The presentation took place in Jakarta on Friday (8/5), as a form of appreciation for local governments that actively support employment social security programmes.
“Of course, we hope that in the future, attention and protection for workers in Banten will continue to be enhanced,” he said.
Banten Province won the Paritrana Award 2025 in the Best Provincial Government (Pemprov) category for employment social security. The award was also given to Tangerang Regency and Panongan Village in Tangerang Regency.
The award was directly received by Banten Governor Andra Soni along with the Regent of Tangerang and the Head of Panongan Village, Tangerang Regency, presented by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhaimin Iskandar, at the Paritrana Social Security for Employment Award 2025 Presentation event at Plaza BP Jamsostek, Jl Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Friday (8/5).
“This award is related to the employment social security in Banten Province,” said Andra.
Andra Soni stated that currently, employment social security in Banten Province already covers 2.4 million workers, including security for vulnerable workers.
According to him, the Banten Provincial Government aims to contribute to achieving the national target of employment social security for 10 million vulnerable workers.
“Alhamdulillah, our regional regulation has been enacted for the protection of vulnerable workers. Insya Allah, there will be interventions from the Banten Provincial Government for vulnerable workers,” he emphasised.
Banten Province has Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2025 on the Implementation of the Employment Social Security Programme. This regulation was enacted to strengthen the role of local government in providing social security protection for informal workers, such as fishermen, farmers, and daily labourers.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia Muhaimin Iskandar said that the potential for economic risks continues to occur, which will pressure workers. Thus, risks to workers also exist.
“Protecting our workers today means protecting the sustainability of companies in the future,” said Muhaimin Iskandar.
According to him, social security will enhance business performance. The better a company protects its workers, the better it will be viewed by investors.
On that occasion, the Movement to Protect 10 Million Vulnerable Workers for informal workers was also launched. This movement targets domestic assistants, ojek drivers, small traders, farm labourers, and fishermen.
