Banten High Prosecutor's Office Investigates Alleged Corruption of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Assets, Former Rector Summoned
The Banten High Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating allegations of criminal corruption related to the control of state assets owned by UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta by several foundations that should be under the university’s auspices. Former Rector UIN Prof Dede Rosyada has also been summoned.
Head of the Legal Information Section of the Banten High Prosecutor’s Office, Jonathan Suranta Martua, stated that the case is still in the investigation phase and several parties have been called in for clarification.
“So this alleged corruption case is still in the investigation stage,” said Jonathan when confirmed, Friday (27/3/2026).
Jonathan also did not disclose an estimate of state losses in this case. Currently, investigators are still focused on the case deepening stage. “There isn’t any (estimate) yet, it’s still in the case investigation stage,” he added.
Several parties are known to have been summoned in January 2026, including former UIN Rector Dede Rosyada, foundation administrators, and the UIN integration team. The summons were related to alleged corruption, asset claims, and abuse of authority in managing state assets.
Meanwhile, the legal team for UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Rusdiyana Nur Ridho, stated that this case concerns the alleged utilisation of state assets in the form of land and buildings by foundations that do not comply with legal provisions. They hope the case will soon go to trial to provide legal certainty.
In addition, reports have also been filed with the police regarding allegations of asset embezzlement and embezzlement in office involving related parties, with the reports registered at Polda Metro Jaya and Polres Tangerang Selatan.
“We have also filed a police report against former UIN Jakarta Rector Dede Rosyada at Polres Tangerang Selatan and Polda Metro Jaya,” said Rusdi.
The report at Polres Tangsel is numbered LP/B/8265/XI/2025/SPKT regarding allegations of embezzlement of rights over immovable property or entering someone else’s yard without permission as referred to in Article 385 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 167 of the old Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, the report at Polda Metro Jaya concerns allegations of criminal embezzlement in office as referred to in Article 488 of Law 1/2023 and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code with police report LP/B/54/I/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.
For information, based on Minister of Religious Affairs Decree Number 1543, several educational units such as SMA/SMK Triguna, Madrasah Pembangunan, and TK Ketilang should be integrated into the Public Service Agency (BLU) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta because their assets are state-owned. However, in practice, those assets are controlled by several foundations.
