Tangerang (ANTARA) - The Grand El-Hajj Asrama Haji Banten in Cipondoh, Tangerang City, is ready to serve as the embarkation point for 9,200 prospective Hajj pilgrims from eight districts and cities in Banten Province. “The total number of pilgrims from Banten is 9,200 people, divided into 24 batches. Departure will take place via the Banten Embarkation, with entry into the dormitory scheduled from 21 April to 18 May,” said the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) for the Management of Grand El-Hajj Asrama Haji Banten, Ahmad Muwafiq, in Tangerang on Monday. He stated that the Grand El-Hajj Asrama Haji Banten is ready to be the inaugural embarkation this year for Hajj pilgrims from Banten. The Grand El-Hajj Asrama Haji Banten has met the requirements and passed the feasibility test as a Hajj embarkation point. As many as 110 personnel from Banten have been sworn in to support operations, divided into 11 service areas, including services for the elderly and disabled, accommodation, catering, transportation, immigration, and health. In addition, it involves support staff such as porters and room cleaning personnel. “Preparations for the pilgrims’ departure have now reached 99.9 percent,” he said. Ahmad Muwafiq added that for accommodation at Grand El-Hajj, 215 rooms have been prepared with a capacity of up to 860 people, intended for two batches. The first batch from Tangerang City, consisting of 393 people, is scheduled to enter the dormitory on 21 April at 18:55 WIB, and then depart on 22 April at 12:20 WIB. “The official send-off is planned for 14:20 WIB at Soekarno-Hatta Airport by the President,” he said.
