Banten Governor Supports National Youth Food Security Jamboree

Banten Governor Andra Soni has expressed support for the planned National Youth Food Security Jamboree to be held in Wanasalam, Lebak Regency. The event is scheduled to take place from 19 to 28 October.

The support was conveyed by Andra Soni during an audience with the jamboree organising committee, accompanied by KNPI General Chairman Ali Hanafiah and his team, and attended by several senior officials of the Banten Provincial Government.

Chief Executive of the National Youth Food Security Jamboree, Cecep Pria Erawan, said the activity would raise the issue of food security while providing theoretical and practical training to participants.

“Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah SWT, I was received together with the committee by the Governor, also attended by the KNPI Chairman, to organise the planned National Youth Food Security Jamboree in Wanasalam from 19 to 28 October at the national level,” said Cecep.

According to him, the jamboree activities will be filled mostly with practical sessions, including those related to biofloc technology and the cultivation of tilapia and catfish.

“The programme will focus more on theory and practice for biofloc activities, and the breeding and cultivation of tilapia and catfish,” he stated.

Cecep said the Banten Governor’s support provides encouragement for the committee to prepare the event. He hopes the jamboree’s implementation can become a pilot model for youth food security programmes from Banten for the national level.

“Hopefully, this implementation can run well because this is from Banten for Indonesia. This is our pilot project. If our pilot in Banten is good, it will become a national pilot,” he said.

Meanwhile, Banten Governor Andra Soni said food security is something that must be continuously pursued, especially amidst the current global conditions.

“I think, thank you. I am receiving a visit from friends on the National Youth Food Security Jamboree committee from Banten for Indonesia,” said Andra.

Andra stated that the ideas presented by the committee align with the government’s efforts to strengthen food security. According to him, youth have an important role to play in the programme.
