Serang (ANTARA) - Banten Governor Andra Soni celebrated Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah by inviting hundreds of orphans, the needy, and the general public to the Provincial State Building in Serang City, Banten. “This State Building is the people’s home and open to everyone. I am grateful today to be able to share ketupat with the orphans and the elderly,” said Andra Soni in Serang on Saturday. The occasion became an open silaturahim or open house event that brought together local leaders with residents from various backgrounds, including representatives from the Christian and Buddhist communities who attended to offer congratulations. During the event, Governor Andra Soni also expressed appreciation to the orderly mudik participants and the field officers who worked hard, ensuring that the mudik flow in Banten proceeded smoothly without significant obstacles. “This year, Insya Allah, we have started for private Madrasah Aliyah. This is our effort to serve the community so that Banten residents have high competitiveness,” he said. Joy was evident on the faces of the guests present, one of whom was Nurlelah (40), the manager of Ummul Quro Orphanage. She was moved because 80 of her charges were specially invited to experience the warmth of Lebaran with the governor. “The children are very enthusiastic. They feel that the Governor is present as a parental figure during this Lebaran moment,” said Nurlelah.
