It is known that from 20 April to 31 May 2026, the Banten Provincial Government is opening the Pre-SPMB process. In that process, prospective students fill in personal data up to grades for verification.

Yeremia stated that his nephew uploaded the data on 24 April and had not yet been declared to have passed verification until Thursday (7/5). On that Thursday, his nephew was contacted by someone claiming to be able to help with the verification process.

“It happened to my nephew. A few days ago, late at night, someone claiming to be an admin contacted my child to offer help,” said Yeremia.

“So my question is, the child’s data should only be known by the child and the operator. But why does someone else know? And they also know the status has not been verified,” he said.

Not long after, he contacted the Head of the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) of Banten Province. He complained about the alleged data leak.

“The school side claims it was not from them. Okay, if not, but my question is, why is there someone claiming to be an admin who knows the student’s number and knows the application status has not been verified,” he said.

He also suspects that the broker contacted several other prospective students to offer help.

“Don’t tell me, children with potential, good grades, who have a chance to enter the achievement pathway, are being targeted by brokers. Because this data is known, the children’s grade data must reveal who has potential to enter,” he said.

According to Yeremia, brokers are taking advantage of the lengthy verification process. He requested that the verification process during Pre-SPMB be accelerated, if necessary using AI assistance.

“In the previous year’s SPMB, it only took three days. But why now it takes two weeks and still not verified. This is too long. Better to use AI for verification. So the psychology of parents and prospective students is not disturbed and exploited by brokers,” he said.
