Bantargebang Landfill Landslide Death Toll Rises to 13, Six Confirmed Dead

BEKASI — The landslide at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST) in Bekasi City has claimed at least 13 victims. Six people have been rescued, six have been confirmed dead, and one person remains missing as of Monday evening, 9 March 2026, according to ongoing search and rescue efforts.

The Head of Jakarta’s Search and Rescue Office, Desiana Kartika Bahari, stated that victim data was compiled from field reports by on-site personnel as well as accounts from witnesses and families of those affected.

Desiana identified the six survivors as Budiman, Johan, Safifudin, Slamet, Ato, and Dofir.

The six confirmed dead include Enda Widayanti (25), a food stall operator; Sumini (60), also a food stall operator; Dedi Sutrisno of Karawang, a truck driver; Irwan Supriatin, a truck driver; Jussova Situmorang; and Hardianto. Four bodies were recovered on Sunday, 8 March, with two additional bodies found on Monday, 9 March.

A seventh victim, Riki Supiadi (40), also known as Buyung, remains unaccounted for and continues to be the focus of search and rescue operations as of Monday evening.
