Banser Supporters Gather at KPK Offices as Former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Remains Under Interrogation
Banser supporters began arriving at the KPK’s Red and White building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, whilst former Religious Affairs Minister (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ) was still undergoing interrogation by the KPK as a suspect in a corruption case involving the hajj quota.
According to monitoring by detikcom on site on Thursday, 12 March 2026, Banser supporters began arriving from 16:42 WIB onwards. They arrived using motorcycles, cars, and buses.
Upon reaching the front of the KPK’s Red and White building, the Banser supporters took up positions and delivered speeches expressing support for Yaqut. Some of the Banser supporters were seen removing barbed wire that had been installed by police.
Police maintained a presence overseeing the action by Banser supporters. The entrance gate to the KPK’s Red and White building was closed by security personnel.
Former Religious Affairs Minister (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ) attended the KPK’s summons for interrogation on this day. Yaqut denied claims by the KPK that he had requested a postponement of today’s interrogation.
Yaqut arrived at the Red and White KPK building at 13:05 WIB. He was accompanied by his legal advisory team.
Yaqut arrived wearing a white shirt covered with a jacket and a black peci (traditional hat). Upon arrival at the KPK building, Yaqut said little. However, he denied having requested a postponement of today’s interrogation.
“Yes, I am attending the summons from the KPK investigator. Bismillah (in the name of God). There was no request for postponement,” Yaqut told reporters at the location.
