Banser Members Storm KPK Building During Yaqut's Questioning

A number of members of Barisan Ansor Serbaguna (Banser), the semi-autonomous paramilitary wing of the Gerakan Pemuda Ansor youth movement, stormed the KPK’s Red and White Building on Thursday (12 March).

They arrived at approximately 16:39 WIB whilst former Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas was being questioned.

Their arrival was an expression of solidarity with Yaqut and a demand to halt the criminalisation of hajj policy.

The Banser members arrived in convoy using motorcycles, cars, and approximately five buses.

In their action, they also removed iron wire that had been installed at the location.

They also reminded police officials not to obstruct the action.
