BANGKOK (AFX-ASIA): Banpu Plc president Chanin Vongkusolkit said he expects second half consolidated revenue to come in at 2.90 billion baht.
"The company plans to produce 1.2 million tons of coal from our Indonesian sites in the second half of the fiscal year which ends June 2001.
"Our total coal capacity at Jurong in Indonesia is 3 million tons, but production next fiscal year commencing in July 2001 is expected at 2 mln tons annually."
He said the company's three core businesses -- mining, port servicing and coal -- are expected to generate a combined 1.6 billion baht in annual revenues going forward.
"Next year, we expect to see a fall of 1.2 billion baht in consolidated revenues as our contract to supply EGAT's (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) Mae Moh plant will not be renewed. The company plans to issue bonds worth 3 billion baht in the second half of this fiscal year.
