BANGKOK (AFX-ASIA): Banpu Plc president Chanin Vongkusolkit
said he expects second half consolidated revenue to come in at
2.90 billion baht.
"The company plans to produce 1.2 million tons of coal from
our Indonesian sites in the second half of the fiscal year which
ends June 2001.
"Our total coal capacity at Jurong in Indonesia is 3 million
tons, but production next fiscal year commencing in July 2001 is
expected at 2 mln tons annually."
He said the company's three core businesses -- mining, port
servicing and coal -- are expected to generate a combined 1.6
billion baht in annual revenues going forward.
"Next year, we expect to see a fall of 1.2 billion baht in
consolidated revenues as our contract to supply EGAT's
(Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand) Mae Moh plant will
not be renewed. The company plans to issue bonds worth 3 billion
baht in the second half of this fiscal year.
