Banking and Pindar Partnerships Drive More Selective Lending Growth
Jakarta — Strengthening institutional funding partnerships between non-bank financial services institutions, such as online lending (pindar) platforms, and the banking sector is essential to accelerating selective credit growth.
Synergy and co-operation between the two types of financial institution are therefore important to increasing lending through a broader partnership ecosystem.
Such co-operation offers opportunities to make the most of each party’s capabilities and extend access to financing, while continuing to prioritise asset quality, prudential principles and risk management.
Both sides also have experience in providing digital funding services, including using technology to support verification and the assessment of prospective borrowers’ creditworthiness.
Loan-channeling arrangements enable banks and pindar providers to work together to distribute funding in line with their respective roles and authority, and with the terms they have jointly agreed.
One such partnership is between pindar platform PT Indonesia Fintopia Technology (Easycash) and digital bank PT Krom Bank Indonesia Tbk (Krom Bank), which have entered into a strategic loan-channeling agreement.
Krom Bank President Director Anton Hermawan said the collaboration forms part of the bank’s efforts to develop its network of lending partners and strengthen Easycash’s institutional funding co-operation with the banking sector.
“As a digital bank, partnering with Easycash is part of Krom Bank’s strategy to develop lending through partnerships with financial technology companies. We hope this partnership will support healthy and sustainable growth in Krom Bank’s lending,” Anton said in a statement on Friday, 23 October 2026.
Krom Bank’s monthly financial report for September 2026 showed that its total loans reached Rp11.59 trillion as at August 2026, up 50.4 per cent year on year from Rp7.70 trillion in the same period a year earlier.
“This significant growth reflects the development of Krom Bank’s lending business, while also underscoring the strategic role of partnerships as one of the drivers of business growth,” he said.
Easycash President Director Nucky Poedjiardjo said collaboration between banks and pindar providers enables both parties to draw on complementary capabilities in meeting the public’s financing needs.
