An increase in the use of digital financial services among younger generations has underlined the importance of strengthening financial literacy. In response, Bank Woori Saudara, via its Subang Branch, organised a financial education programme for students at Universitas Mandiri Subang in February 2026. The event, held in the university lecture hall, was attended by 95 participants comprising students, lecturers and campus staff. The programme emphasised the importance of developing a habit of saving from an early stage as the foundation for healthy financial planning in the future. Through the education session, the Bank Woori Saudara Subang Branch team outlined prudent ways to manage finances and highlighted the importance of financial discipline for young people. Students were encouraged to use banking products appropriately to support their long-term financial plans. In addition to financial management, the event drew attention to rising risks of digital crime in the financial sector. Speaker Yuga Karya Sasmita explained various digital scam methods, such as scams, phishing and social engineering that often target users of digital banking services. Data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) shows that since the establishment of the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre in November 2024 through January 2026, there were 432,637 fraud complaints from consumers and the public, with total losses amounting to Rp9.1 trillion. Of that amount, about Rp436.88 billion in public funds was blocked through the central coordination for handling. Through this educational activity, Bank Woori Saudara hopes that young people will better appreciate the importance of saving while also being able to recognise various potential risks of digital financial crime. The programme forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities regularly conducted by Bank Woori Saudara to enhance financial literacy and inclusion in society, as well as to broaden public understanding of safe and responsible financial services.
