Medan — PT Bank Sumut (Perseroda) has begun implementing financing relief for People’s Business Credit (KUR) beneficiaries among micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) affected by the disaster in North Sumatra (Sumut).

Bank Sumut’s President Director Heru Mardiansyah stated that the bank had prepared the technical measures to implement this relief in accordance with government regulatory provisions.

“We are ready to implement the relief in accordance with the provisions of the Coordinating Minister Regulation (Permenko) in the economic affairs sector and internal bank rules,” Heru stated firmly in Medan, North Sumatra, on Thursday.

The KUR financing relief policy for UMKM actors, he continued, is in accordance with Coordinating Minister Regulation Number 1 of 2026 on Guidelines for the Implementation of People’s Business Credit (KUR).

“This policy is part of efforts to recover the economy in affected areas, including North Sumatra,” said Heru.

The bank also conducted initial mapping of debtors affected by the hydrometeorological disaster in late November 2025 in North Sumatra.

“For the initial mapping phase, there are approximately 1,022 debtors falling into the affected category. Those eligible for the relief scheme number approximately 17,875 debtors with outstanding debt value of around IDR 1.31 trillion,” explained Heru.
