Kendari (ANTARA) - PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sulawesi Tenggara (Bank Sultra) has disbursed Rp20.55 billion in construction working-capital loans for the Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih (KNMP) project in the province.

Bank Sultra President Director Andri Permana Diputra Abubakar said in Kendari on Monday that the national programme, overseen by the Directorate General of Capture Fisheries at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), has a total national budget allocation of Rp4.94 trillion.

He said 19 project packages in Southeast Sulawesi had been formally contracted, with a combined project value of Rp203.77 billion.

“To ensure that infrastructure works in coastal areas are completed on time, Bank Sultra has provided and is processing construction credit facilities for contractors carrying out KNMP projects in Southeast Sulawesi, with a total credit ceiling of Rp20.55 billion,” Andri Permana said.

Meanwhile, a credit ceiling of Rp12.95 billion is currently being processed for four project packages spread across Baubau City and the regencies of South Buton, Wakatobi, Muna, Konawe, Kolaka and North Kolaka.

Andri Permana said the bank’s active involvement in the national project demonstrated its commitment to improving the welfare of coastal communities.

“As a regional development bank, Bank Sultra is ready to be at the forefront of supporting the success of the government’s strategic programmes, particularly by accelerating the development of coastal infrastructure through the Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih project,” he said.

“We are optimistic that, once KNMP infrastructure in Southeast Sulawesi is completed, connectivity and economic activity among fishing communities will grow rapidly, while strengthening the competitiveness of the province’s blue economy sector,” he added.

Bank Sultra’s support for the Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih programme underscores its strategic role as a regional development agent focused on empowering coastal communities economically.

“Through close cooperation between the government, regional banks and project partners, this productive and inclusive financing is expected to accelerate regional economic self-reliance and sustainably distribute prosperity more widely among fishers in Southeast Sulawesi,” he added.
