Bank Stocks Rally in Unison, Supporting JCI in Positive Territory

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Banking stocks moved in unison in positive territory. The rise in banking shares occurred alongside the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), which remained consistently in the green from the opening until the second trading session today, Friday (21/8/2026).

The largest gain was recorded by PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI), which soared 4.46% to 3,750 per share. It was followed by other state-owned banks. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) strengthened 3.18% to 3,240.

Not to be left behind, other state-owned banks also advanced: PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRIS) rose 2.54% to 1,815 and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) climbed 2.17% to 4,240, while PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. (BBTN) strengthened 2.07% to 1,230.

Indonesia’s largest private bank, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA), also recorded a share price increase of 1.17% to 6,475.

Mid-tier private banks also moved in the green, with PT Bank Permata Tbk. (BNLI) growing 0.93% to 2,180. Shares of Indonesia’s second-largest private bank, PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk. (BNGA), rose 0.60% to 1,675.

Then, shares of PT Bank Pan Indonesia Tbk. (PNBN), or PaninBank, grew 0.55% to 910.

Finally, shares of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk. (BDMN) rose 0.47% to 4,320, making it the bank stock with the smallest gain.
