Bank Saqu Reaffirms Commitment and Financial Support for Women in the Creative Industry
Bank Saqu has reaffirmed its commitment to continuously supporting women’s roles in building businesses in the creative sector, as well as the importance of financial management in fostering business growth. This was realised through Bank Saqu’s participation in a discussion forum on the occasion of Hari Kartini with IdeaFriends, titled “Built by Her: Turning Passion Into Power in The Creative Industry”. Head of Corporate Communication & Marketing at Bank Saqu, Willy Apriando, stated that the bank wants to remind everyone of the importance of women’s roles in driving economic independence. “Bank Saqu observes that women are now not only present as part of the creative industry, but also undergoing a dynamic financial journey from starting, managing, to sustainably developing businesses,” said Willy in his statement on Monday, 27 April 2026. He added that for businesses to grow sustainably, a good understanding of finance is needed, from cash flow management to financial decision-making. “As the creative industry develops, we believe that the combination of creativity and proper financial management will be the main foundation for the birth of more sustainable businesses in Indonesia,” he said. Willy further noted that this is complemented by Bank Saqu’s customer profile, which shows around 40 percent are solopreneurs. This encourages Bank Saqu to offer an approach that not only focuses on banking services but also on strengthening education and business ecosystems. “One of them is through the Solopreneur Academy, a programme that provides learning and networking for business actors to develop their businesses in a more directed manner,” he said. Winner of the Bank Saqu Solopreneur Academy 2025, Liya Tsabitah, said that as a woman building a business from something she loves, she realises that creativity alone is not enough. There is a process of understanding finance, managing cash flow, and making the right decisions. In this journey, she acknowledged that support from Bank Saqu is very relevant, as it helps her as a solopreneur to grow with a stronger foundation. “By separating personal and business finances through Saku Nabung and Saku Transaksi, financial management becomes more orderly, so that the business can develop more optimally,” she said.
