Bank Sampoerna's net profit climbs 68% in Q1 2026
Jakarta — PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna, or Bank Sampoerna, recorded a net profit of Rp8.9 billion in the first quarter of 2026. The figure represented a 68 percent year-on-year rise from Rp5.3 billion in the same period last year. Henky Suryaputra, Director of Finance and Business Planning, said the net profit growth was supported by operational efficiency and disciplined risk management amid the dynamics of the banking industry. The improvement in efficiency was reflected in the operating expenses to operating income ratio (BOPO) improving to 96.33 percent at end-March 2026. In the same period last year, Bank Sampoerna’s BOPO stood at 97.26 percent. ‘Business growth remains a focus for Bank Sampoerna in facing the dynamics of the banking industry. Therefore, we will continue to uphold operational efficiency and disciplined risk management to strengthen the bank’s fundamentals,’ he said in a written statement on Thursday (21 May 2026). Fifty-nine percent of the total loan portfolio was disbursed to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Credit disbursement was supported by customer deposits reaching Rp15 trillion. Growth in customer funds was also supported by an increase in low-cost funds or current accounts and savings accounts (CASA) by 29.6 percent year-on-year in the form of current accounts and savings accounts. Corporate current accounts rose to Rp2.01 trillion from Rp1.34 trillion previously. Savings rose to Rp1.43 trillion from Rp1.31 trillion in the same period last year. Asset quality remained sound. Net non-performing loan (NPL) ratio stood at 2.70 percent as of end-March 2026. In terms of capital and liquidity, Bank Sampoerna posted a capital adequacy ratio (CAR) of 30.03 percent.
