Bank Patriot's assets up

JAKARTA (JP): Bank Patriot, a private banks included in the government-sponsored recapitalization program, reported an improved performance during the first half of this year.

The Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) said here on Wednesday the bank's total assets rose by about 10 percent to Rp 212.61 billion as of June from Rp 190.33 billion in the same period last year.

The bank's third-party funds increased 7.23 percent from Rp 168.07 billion to Rp 180.23 billion. In the same period, the bank's total lending rose from Rp 28.28 billion to Rp 47.77 billion due to a rise in the disbursement of credits to small and medium-size companies.

The bank's net interest income improved significantly from negative Rp 6.28 billion to Rp 3.17 billion, IBRA said, adding that the bank's losses declined from Rp 12.58 billion to Rp 811 million (02)
