Bank Muamalat Partners with NRA Group to Provide Special Hajj Financing
PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk is strengthening the development of the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem through a strategic collaboration with NRA Group for the distribution of ‘ProHajj Signature’ special Hajj financing. This collaboration is expected to assist prospective pilgrims in preparing their special Hajj financing in a more planned manner.
The President Director of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk, Imam Teguh Saptono, stated that ProHajj Signature offers a financing scheme in Rupiah which is then converted to US Dollars after disbursement until the customers are cleared for departure by NRA Group. This scheme is designed to help customers mitigate the risk of exchange rate fluctuations during registration and prior to departure.
“Financing with a USD denomination is one of the advantages of ProHajj Signature because the cost structure of special Hajj packages generally uses USD. Through this scheme, prospective pilgrims obtain financing that is more stable, measurable, and provides certainty in preparing for worship in the Holy Land,” Imam said in Jakarta on Monday (18/5/2026).
The ProHajj Signature programme was created to support the planning of special Hajj, covering costs from registration to departure according to NRA Group packages, with prices starting from 8,500 USD. This innovation is seen as a step by Bank Muamalat to provide Hajj financing solutions that are adaptive to community needs while strengthening services for partners of Special Hajj Organisers (PIHK).
“Bank Muamasting has a great commitment to continue developing the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem in Indonesia. As a focus of the company’s business, we present complete and relevant services for the community, including synergising with NRA Group as one of the trusted PIHK in the country,” said Imam.
Through this cooperation, both institutions aim to optimise their respective customer bases within the Hajj and Umrah pilgrim segments, as well as financing customers in need of special Hajj planning solutions. Customers registering through ProHajj Signature will immediately receive a special Hajj portion number for the current year, as the system is connected to Siskohat, meaning the estimated departure time is relatively faster compared to regular Hajj.
The financing application is designed to be practical, supported by NRA Group’s management of the Hajj portion. The product utilises an ‘ijarah multijasa’ contract with a financing ceiling starting from IDR 135 million and a tenure of up to 96 months.
“ProHajj Signature is managed according to Sharia principles and provides more planned departure readiness. Prospective pilgrims can also depart with their families with the support of premium and exclusive services from NRA Group,” added Imam.
Currently, Bank Muamalat holds approximately 59 per cent of the special Hajj market share in Indonesia. The company believes the Hajj and Umrah segment still possesses significant growth potential as public demand increases for safe, comfortable, and Sharia-compliant pilgrimage travel services.
On the same occasion, Bank Muamalat and NRA Group also launched a co-branded Visa debit card intended for NRA Group’s loyal pilgrims. This exclusive debit card provides various transaction features in Saudi Arabia, including cash withdrawal facilities with Indonesian language menus at numerous ATMs, cashless payments at Visa/Plus logo merchants, and transaction security based on chip technology.
Cardholders also have the opportunity to receive cashback of up to 15 per cent, or a maximum of IDR 200,000, without a minimum spend in Saudi Arabia. The presence of this co-branded debit card is expected to make transactions for pilgrims more practical and secure, both before departure and during their worship in the Holy Land.
