Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk is organising a programme to renovate mosques and prayer rooms in the Sumatra region following the disaster, to ensure the sustainability and availability of places of worship so they can be reused. Bank Muamalat’s President Director, Imam Teguh Saptono, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the renovation of mosques and prayer rooms is part of the company’s mission to provide positive social contributions to society. Additionally, this initiative represents the company’s tangible concern for communities in need. “We hope that this renovation of mosques and prayer rooms can accelerate the recovery of worship activities and religious events, as well as rekindle the community’s spirit to rise again,” said Imam. The social action is being carried out in collaboration with ten philanthropic institutions and zakat management organisations (LAZ), namely Baitulmaal Muamalat, BAZNAS, Al Bahjah Peduli, Dompet Dhuafa, Yayasan Asar Humanity, Rumah Yatim, Baitulmaal Hidayatullah, Human Initiative, Relawan Nusantara, and Wakaf DT. The company is inviting all customers to participate. In addition to restoring the function of mosques and prayer rooms as places of worship and social gathering, customer donations also provide long-term spiritual benefits. Customers can access the Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and Wakaf (ZISWAF) feature on the Muamalat DIN mobile banking application and select a philanthropic institution/LAZ to channel their donations. “Insya Allah, every donation channelled will bring benefits and have a real impact on disaster-affected communities,” said Imam. The company stated that this programme is being held in conjunction with Bank Muamalat’s 34th anniversary. On this anniversary milestone, the company expressed its commitment to continue moving forward through sustainable transformation. “Through sustainable transformation, we are strengthening services, developing digital capabilities, and delivering the best experience for customers,” he said. Imam added that the company also believes that a meaningful journey is not undertaken alone but grows from togetherness that mutually strengthens and provides benefits, including helping those in need.
