Bank Muamalat and NRA Group Launch Bespoke Hajj Financing Product
PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk (Bank Muamalat) and NRA Group have launched the ProHajj Signature financing service to assist prospective pilgrims in preparing for special Hajj pilgrimages. The service covers registration and departure costs starting from 8,500 US Dollars.
The President Director of Bank Muamalat, Imam Teguh Saptono, stated that the service employs a financing scheme in Rupiah, which is subsequently converted into US Dollars upon disbursement and remains so until the customer’s departure is confirmed by NRA Group. This structure is designed to help customers mitigate the risks of exchange rate fluctuations.
“US Dollar-denominated financing is one of the key advantages of ProHajj Signature, as the cost structure for special Hajj packages generally utilises US Dollars,” said Imam Teguh Saptono in Jakarta on Monday. He noted that through this scheme, prospective pilgrims can obtain more stable and measurable financing, providing certainty in their preparations for the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
He added that this innovation is part of the company’s efforts to provide special Hajj financing solutions that are more adaptive to the needs of the community. The ProHajj Signature service offers planning packages for special Hajj, covering registration and departure costs starting from 8,500 US Dollars, in accordance with NRA Group’s package pricing.
Customers registering through this financing product will immediately receive a special Hajj portion number for the current year, as the service is integrated with the Integrated Hajj Computerised System (SISKOHAT). The estimated departure time is also relatively faster compared to regular Hajj.
Utilising the ‘ijarah multijasa’ contract, ProHajj Signature offers financing ceilings starting from IDR 135 million with tenures of up to 96 months.
On the same occasion, Bank Muamalat and NRA Group also launched a co-branded Visa debit card for loyal NRA Group pilgrims. The card allows users to access various premium features and exclusive promotions while performing their pilgrimage. Pilgrims can perform cash withdrawals using an Indonesian language menu at various ATMs in Saudi Arabia, as well as make non-cash payments at all merchants bearing the VISA/Plus logo using both dipped and contactless methods.
Furthermore, holders of the exclusive debit card are eligible for cashback of up to 15 per cent, or a maximum of IDR 200,000, with no minimum spend required in Saudi Arabia. Currently, Bank Muamalat holds approximately 59 per cent of the special Hajj market share in Indonesia. Through this collaboration with NRA Group, the company is optimistic about further expanding access to special Hajj financing that is easier, more planned, and provides added value for the Indonesian people.
